Looking to pursue a Public Relations Bachelors Degree, but not sure where it will lead you? One of the top jobs for Public Relations majors is a Public Relations Manager.

The field of Public Relations is vastly growing everyday, and public relations managers must stay on top of these trends. Public relations managers tend to work long hours and can often be exposed to high-stress leveled environments.

Public relations managers work hard to build and sustain their client or employer's public image in a positive light. This is done through writing news releases, raising funds for their organizations and planning and directing public relations programs. PR professionals also speak on behalf of their clients and employers as well as manage any crises that occur.

Public relations managers can also be known as practitioners and specialists depending on the organization. The job opportunities for public relations managers can be found in any field.

It’s becoming more common to have a bachelor’s degree to go into this field of study. A master’s degree is not necessary, however, a master’s degree does offer more experience and puts those who possess it more of an advantage when applying for public relations jobs.

The job market for public relations managers is continuing to grow. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics the 2010 - 2020 projected rate for change in employment 21 percent. This is faster than 14 percent, which is the average rate for all occupations.

The Bureau of Labor Statistics also reported that the Median Pay for public relations managers in May 2010 was $91,810. This amount varies by organization.
