U.S. News & World Report names CBU a Best Regional University for 2012
California Baptist University has been recognized among “America’s Best Colleges” for the sixth straight year in a national ranking by U.S. News & World Report magazine.
CBU tied for the 46th position as a “Best Regional University,” improving the 48th place ranking it shared with another institution last year.
Dr. Ronald L. Ellis, CBU President, said many students and their families consider factors that go into the rankings to help with important decisions about which college to attend.
“The criteria used in these rankings provide a useful snapshot about the value of academic programs and other aspects of the institutions that are featured in the report,” Ellis explained. “The continuing advancement by California Baptist University in the U.S. News & World Report ranking recognizes the high quality of education that students receive and affirms the commitment to excellence embodied in the faculty and staff at CBU.”
The nation’s colleges and universities are ranked annually by the magazine on criteria that includes retention and graduation rates, faculty resources, student selectivity, financial resources, alumni giving and assessments by top administrators at peer institutions.
The new U.S News & World Report rankings will appear in the 2012 edition of the “America’s Best College” guidebook and online at http://www.usnews.com/.
