Education a life-long process
From that initial experience in my undergraduate days where I personally witnessed and experienced the life-changing effects of Christian higher education, I decided to be actively engaged in trying to do my part to help educate God's children. In many ways, I view being an instructor in Christian higher education as a guide who is employed to lead people on a difficult trail, mountain climb or down the rapids of the Colorado River. The guide is there to provide direction, encouragement and knowledge so the traveler can navigate and safely explore unfamiliar and uncertain areas so that by the end of the journey they have grown through the experience. It is my responsibility to assist students to further develop their own ability to think for themselves and grow to be more productive professionally and spiritually. As an instructor I will encourage, influence and motivate students to continue the lifelong learning experience beyond the classroom. If I am going to be successful as an instructor, the learning process cannot end when the student leaves the classroom. Learning is a lifelong process.
