OPS Information Technology (OPS IT) delivers solutions to the CBU community that facilitate teaching and learning. We offer technical leadership, training and other services with a commitment to excellence. We are focused on delivering exceptional customer service and creating a reliable infrastructure that demonstrates value to students, faculty and staff at California Baptist University.

Opening Smarthinking in the updated version of Firefox

A recent update to the Mozilla Firefox web browser may prevent the Smarthinking module from opening within Blackboard. Solutions are available below:

The following solution works on Firefox for PC:

1)      Open Firefox and open the orange “Firefox” drop-down menu (on the upper-left corner of the browser).

2)      Click “Options.” The “Options” window will appear.

3)      Click the “Content” tab.

4)      Check the box to “Block pop-up windows.”

5)      Click the “Exceptions…” button. The “Allowed Sites – Pop-ups” window will appear.

6)      Type the following addresses into the “Address of website:” field and click the “Allow” button:

7)      Click the “Close” button.

8)      UNCHECK the box to “Block pop-up windows.”

9)      Click the “OK” button.

10)   Open the Blackboard course and click the “Tutoring Online” link to open Smarthinking.

7)      Click the Close button.

Scheduled Equallogic Maintenance - July 28, 2014

Maintenance will performed on our Storage Area Network on Monday, July 28 from 10:00 pm to 12:00 am.

The following services will be unavailable during the maintenance period:

•    Email (staff and student)
•    InsideCBU
•    CX / Cognos
•    File Storage
•    Itrak (Public Safety’s dispatch system)

CrashPlan PROe Scheduled Maintenance - July 29, 2014

CrashPlan PROe system maintenance will be performed on:

  • July 29, 2014, Tuesday

The maintenance will take place from 4:00 am to 6:00 am, Pacific Standard Time.
The maintenance has been proactively scheduled by Code42 and was not scheduled by CBU.

Cisco Case Study
