Overview

Develop high-demand skills in tax accounting, auditing, and other financial areas.

The purpose of the online Bachelor of Science in Accounting degree program is to prepare students for careers in the accounting profession including public accounting, corporate accounting, managerial accounting, and government and not-for-profit accounting. The curriculum is specifically designed to prepare students for the CPA exam and the numerous career paths available in the accounting field.

Accounting majors receive a foundation in core principles from an interdisciplinary approach that includes economics, finance, business law, international business, business analysis, and marketing in addition to the accounting curriculum. Students gain a better understanding of the business environment through study of ledgers, accruals, financial statements, budgets, and reporting.

Upon completion of a online bachelor's degree in Accounting, many individuals will go on to take the Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and/or the Certified Management Accountant (CMA) exams to become a licensed professional. CBU Online’s bachelor degree in accounting allows students to gain the knowledge necessary to successfully complete these exams.

The online Bachelor of Science in Accounting degree program is designed to take students through a journey that embraces personal, professional, and spiritual transformation. Students graduating from the online Bachelor of Science in Accounting degree program will be equipped to ethically address complex accounting issues in a dynamic business environment. Composition

This is a process-based writing class that focuses on academic writing, reading, and critical thinking as expressed in expository and analytical writing assignments through 5 to 7 substantial essays over the course of the semester. Develops fluency, coherence, style, effectiveness, and literary analysis. Students must pass this course with a C- or better to fulfill general competency requirements and to proceed to ENG 123. Prerequisite: ENG 103. Placement into this course is determined by ACT/SAT scores. Placement may be challenged by the Writing Placement Exam. (3 units)

Intermediate Composition

Continued practice in writing with emphasis on critical thinking, argument, analysis and interpretation of multicultural readings and other interdisciplinary expository materials. Includes the writing of a major research paper (or report) in addition to several shorter essays requiring various types of documentation. Fieldwork required. This course requires LiveText.   • 24 transferrable units preferred or High School Diploma/Equivalent
  • Minimum GPA of 2.0

Complete the financial aid application: FAFSA

Your personal admissions counselor will contact you to assist with enrollment, registration and financing your education*

Step 3:

Student will supply official transcripts to admissions counselor

Step 4:

Admissions counselor will meet with you to complete the registration process and provide an estimated financial aid award/education financing plan

Step 5:

Admissions counselor will introduce you to your Academic “One Stop Advisor” to complete your academic degree plan and assist you in navigating your academic career to graduation.
