Commit to a career in human movement and fitness

The online Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology degree program positions students for career entry and mobility in the arenas of fitness, athletic training, teaching, coaching, and allied health-related fields. This well-rounded degree serves as a solid educational foundation for those students planning to pursue an immediate hands-on career dedicated to human health and wellness, or further pursue graduate work in related fields, including teaching credentials, a graduate program in Kinesiology, athletic training or other areas of advanced study.

Become a professional in sports medicine, fitness, athletic training or nutrition and wellness.  The online bachelor degree in Kinesiology program covers a breadth of knowledge that prepares students to pursue their professional goals. Blending physical education and exercise science courses, the program’s academically rigorous curriculum uniquely positions students to become educators while providing a solid foundation for graduate studies.* Faculty is comprised of public school teachers, recreation and athletic directors, and other working professionals who bring relevant experience directly from the field into the classroom.  Each Kinesiology faculty member is passionate about helping people maximize their physical health and overall wellness, and it is our goal to produce students who share this passion.

Composition

This is a process-based writing class that focuses on academic writing, reading, and critical thinking as expressed in expository and analytical writing assignments through 5 to 7 substantial essays over the course of the semester. Develops fluency, coherence, style, effectiveness, and literary analysis. Students must pass this course with a C- or better or demonstrate a comparable level of writing competence to fulfill general competency requirements and to proceed to ENG 123 - Intermediate Composition. Students may only earn credit for ENG 113 or ENG 113E - Composition Enriched with Lab. (3 units)

Intermediate Composition

Continued practice in writing and research strategies, with emphasis on critical thinking, information literacy, argument, analysis, and interpretation of multicultural and interdisciplinary readings. Includes the writing of a major research paper in addition to several shorter essays. Students may earn credit for either ENG 123 or ENG 123E - Intermediate Composition Enriched with Lab. Prerequisite: ENG 113 with a grade of C- or better or evidence of comparable level of writing competency.
