Bachelor of Science in Marketing

Overview

Learn the art of understanding consumer behavior

The Bachelor of Science in Marketing degree program puts students in a strong position to pursue a rewarding career in marketing. The marketing degree prepares students for various fields within the marketing profession allowing graduates to be competitive in the workforce.

Marketing students will receive a foundation in core business professional competencies in addition to the advanced marketing curriculum. Coursework will prepare savvy professionals to evaluate market trends, identify consumer needs, develop pricing strategies, and promote products and services for their organization.

A degree in marketing can lead to various jobs such as market research analyst, marketing manager, sales manager, advertising sales agent, promotions manager, green marketer, survey researcher, and more. The Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) forecasts a 32 percent employment growth for market research analysts from 2012 to 2022, much faster than the average rate of employment growth for all occupations (which the BLS places at around 10 percent). An increased use of data and marketing research in practically every industry powers this employment growth.

The Bachelor of Science in Marketing is designed to take students through a journey that embraces personal, professional, and spiritual transformation. Students graduating from the program will be equipped to address issues in a global context, with the ethical standards of a Christian heritage. In addition, students will leave the program with the capacity to self-reflect, think critically, lead and engage others, and make effective decisions.

Consistent with the University student outcomes, upon completion of the Bachelor of Science in Marketing degree, graduates will be able to:

  1. Effectively present information orally and in writing.
  2. Exercise the use of business concepts relate to micro and macroeconomics.
  3. Apply business concepts related to finance and accounting.
  4. Integrate business concepts related to law.
