Overview

The online Master of Healthcare Administration (MHA) degree program is designed to prepare current and future healthcare administrators and managers to address contemporary challenges facing the healthcare industry.Through comprehensive study and practical experiences, MHA program participants receive the knowledge and skills necessary to be successful in the field. The Healthcare Administration program is an interdisciplinary degree that provides a philosophical and theoretical background in relevant management principles. Candidates in the Master of Healthcare Administration receive valuable training in order to meet current and future trends in healthcare.

Courses for the MHA program are fully online, which allows local, regional, national, and global learners to focus and effectively manage their time.Coursework addresses the immediate needs of healthcare organizations, and program participants receive an educational experience designed to explore the application of theory and practice. The course focuses on the application and development of management decision making and problem solving skills in the financial area. Specific topics of discussion include financial statement analysis, credit and operational risk, financial planning and budgeting, asset valuation, cash flow analysis and capital budgeting, and firm valuation from a value-based management and corporate governance perspective. Pre- or Co- Requisite: BUS503 or ACC 250 (for Healthcare Administration, MA students). (3 units)
