CBU supports outreach ministry meal at Anaheim Supercross

January 21, 2019

Dr. Monica O’Rourke, professor of kinesiology for CBU Online and Professional Studies, and her husband Brian, president of Team Faith, along with a volunteer team, fed 409 people on Saturday, January 19th at the AMA Supercross race in Anaheim, California. The meal was sponsored by California Baptist University and served by Team Faith, CBU Online staff and alum and provided to Supercross riders, pit crew and support staff. The team also had a surprise visit from CBU alum and Honda Racing Team member, Ms. Tiana Falls, who gladly shared her own CBU journey with others.

Team Faith is a non-profit multi-faceted Outreach Ministry that impacts people who are enthusiastic about Action Sports. Team Faith’s vision is to establish evangelism teams of action sports athletes led by “Pit Pastors” (Chaplains), to infiltrate professional racing circuits and other action sports events. The Team Faith Supercross rider, Dawson Newby, pre-qualified in Anaheim, but did not accumulate enough points for the final event. The team was traveling north to Oakland for the next event on January 27th.  You can learn more about Team Faith and the O’Rourke’s ministry work at TeamFaith.com.
